SadhGuru Jaggi Vasudev - At ADI YOGI ALAYAM CONSECRATION – on 24&25th, December, 2011 Thus spoke Sadhdguru - Some Memorable words at the Nostalgic Event

ADI YOGI ALAYAM
CONSECRATION – on  24&25th, December,  2011

Thus spoke Sadhdguru

The Isha Yoga centre at Velliangiri is always abuzz with some fantastic activity. Momentous things are routinely happening there. If activity, planning, execution and successful inauguration are what Management Success is all about, you can find plenty of it there. You can find the Master CEO , Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, always guiding his disciples from the fore front here.

And, these action-packed events remain etched in the memory of his disciples and Participants for a long, long time. One such memorable event was the consecration of Adi Yogi Alayam on the 24th &25th of December,2011. It is roughly around this time last year. This year, another Great event is scheduled to take place in December 3rd -4th week, which we will cover after the event.

There were about 10000 participants at the consecration ceremony. Being a participant of such an event at velliangiri was of course a fantastic experience for these 10000 disciples – as is obvious from the rapturous comments of the participants. The architecture of the Alayam is a marvel in itself. Some of my family members were there as participants; though, I saw it on all other available channels and methods.

Anyone who was a participant in the event or had seen it later on the CD would be certainly impressed by the enormous preparation that had preceded the event.

Isha volunteers are not merely students of Yoga, they are disciples and devotees of Sadhguru. Only a disciple can be so disciplined in body and mind. Only a devotee can surrender himself or herself so completely to the purpose and to the Guru.

I had covered the Event of the consecration of Adi Yogi Alayam in one of my earlier Blog Posts very briefly at

But, as I hear Sadhguru’s various addresses to the participants at the event at different times (from the CD of the event), I am certainly tempted to re-produce some of his words here. As you can all realize, all these are essentially CONTEXTUAL, and must be seen as such. But, many of these are also thought provoking much beyond the context.  This is the specialty of Sadhguru always. Some of these are Great quotable Quotes, with deep value in many contexts. Some of them bring back the sheer Nostalgia of the events in the minds of the participants and also those who have seen the event on CD.

Not every word of Sadhguru is here – for sure - which is also not practical. But, I have placed here, those that I thought, would evoke your memories of the event again and make you relive the same.

So readers may enjoy these words of Sadhguru, keeping in mind the Context. Readers may also see the Adi Yogi Alayam consecration event on CD, at Isha web site or You-tube, as is available to them, to catch the mind-blowing events once again.

Here we go :

Ø You are not going to witness the consecration; you are going to participate in the consecration process; so, it is a different level of responsibility; it is a different level of process; It is a different level of existence altogether;
Ø I thought nobody should.., ..all those willing,..they should not miss this..possibility and this privilege of being able to manifest the divine. Rather than always looking up to it; being able to manifest it in some way..
Ø all privileges..always come with responsibility.  The higher the privilege, the more responsibility and involvement it demands.
Ø So now you are in the consecration process not as a witness..  but as a participant
Ø A time has come ; you got to be here, here, here and here. There is no here and there…because, knowingly or unknowingly, you have come as a participant (in the consecration process) not as a witness.
Ø Not to receive the prasadam, but to make it happen..
Ø There is a difference between going to the temple and building the temple. This is like building the temple. It is a different game.
Ø We want to bring back  classical yoga in its purest form..not the studio yoga..not the book yoga. not the kind of things that are being done in the world.. proper classical yoga .which is a phenomenally powerful science.
Ø Yoga made easy.....A monkey knows this!.. a monkey knows that ...  if he hangs from the tree this way,... this way, the muscles will develop..so, this is yoga made easy..
Ø There is no investment in the concrete science of yoga..benefits, people are trying to reap!
Ø so, one fundamental reason is, we want to re establish classical yoga....we want to build people who are willing to invest their life into the profoundness of yoga…..not getting fancy benefits out of it.
Ø If you jump off a mountain, head down, you will be doing seershasan for some time..yes!
Ø So, To bring back that dimension..and that is not going to happen by instruction only... a phenomenal energy is needed...otherwise, yoga cannot be taught..without a phenomenal sense of energy, no yoga can be taught...
Ø if you teach yoga without creating a vessel of energy , then, that yoga is not Yoga..that’s a farce.. that farce is going on everywhere in the world..
Ø Words are not yoga. If you listen to something, that must happen...in the system. Otherwise, that is not yoga..to make that happen, you need a powerful space..otherwise, such things will not happen..
Ø One thing that is said about Yogasutras.... the Hatayoga.. is - Sukham, sthiram, asanam. An Asana which is comfortable and stable. that’s the asana
Ø So, Stability,.. balance is the most important aspect. Whatever we wish to do.. How far one goes, how high one climbs.. is not a question of strength alone.. Not a question of intelligence alone..Not a question of knowledge alone..Not a question of external conduciveness..stability..balance..is the most important quality..if this one thing is not there...with all the other things, you still may not make it anywhere, because, you don’t have the necessary balance..
Ø When one wants to dispense his own energies, when one wants to throw his life energies all over the place, having a stable balance, ...a seat is most important..
Ø Stability becomes the most important thing when you throw yourself all over the place..
Ø So, Whatever offer I make to him, how do I offer to him without me taking it on. ( on why he was also partaking cobra poison...)
Ø Venom worked out very well  for me   a long time ago
Ø Venom did not work against me. Venom worked for me... and, it continues to work for me.
Ø Too much of anything kills you..even oxygen kills you...Pongal can kill you..too much pongal can kill you..believe me...Yes...it does..probably, pongal kills more people than cobra’s venom..yes, it does..
Ø Above all, I didn’t want to offer it to him unless,  I am willing to take it too.
Ø If you are made in a certain way, energy-wise, if you are in a certain way,  if you are vibrant beyond a point,  then  the   Cobra’s venom works in a completely different way on the system...
Ø A snake is a very perceptive animal. You cannot call him an animal...because he is above Siva.. he places him above himself..
Ø We are living in a certain kind of world, where... there is no room for profoundness..
Ø Sometimes, I wonder why the hell am I still around..because. there is no room for profoundness
Ø The more profane you are, the better you are in this world today..
Ø when people can even pride themselves that they have no Attention span and they are very proud of it..they have very short attention span..and they are very proud of it..I can’t believe what’s happening..to the humanity..I am from another time..unfit in this world probably..
Ø Everybody has seven chakras only..Adi yogi also has seven.. it is not the same thing...
Ø if you go by the usefulness of life..you will lose your life..
Ø an insect may have a purpose...a tree may have a purpose..but, the Universe has no purpose..the creator has no purpose..
Ø If you go with certain logic... of utility... you will miss the fundamentals.. you will miss the ultimate nature of life..
Ø There is no competition for him.. he is not in the race... (Speaking of Dhyana linga)
Ø These things should always be done only with small groups of people, individuals who..have a certain intimacy with you..Otherwise it is risky.. I assumed this intimacy with all of you..and it is truly wonderful that, without any aberration all of you went through this..in a wonderful manner..and ..  (Sadhguru congratulating the thousands of participants & volunteers)

Hope, you have enjoyed Sadhguru’s words at different times of the consecration event. Kindly go ahead and watch it again on CD, or whatever means you have.

With Hearty Greetings

To all Sadhguru’s disciples

GREAT QUOTES - FROM - SRI SRI RAVISHANKAR - Post.2 dt 09-Dec-2012

GREAT QUOTES

FROM

SRI SRI RAVISHANKAR

Sri Sri Ravishankar is the apostle of peace, love and Yoga in today’s world torn by violence and unrest of all sorts.

Guruji’s words are always a big treat for his disciplies, followers and fans spread all over the world.

Here are some of his recent Quotable Quotes . I do Hope, the readers will love them. Due to the number of quotes, I am putting them in 2 blogposts. This is the SECOND – and is preceded by the First Post. Kindly read both of them

POST-2

1.    You bring all your wealth in front of you and say, ‘God has given me all this. I am so thankful!' Gold, silver is all just an outer symbol. The real wealth is deep within us. There is so much love, peace and joy. Wisdom is the real wealth. Your character, your confidence are the real wealth. When you move with a connection to the Divinity, there is nothing that is richer than this.

2.    I appeal to everybody to celebrate Diwali without firecrackers and respect the environment.
May your words and feelings be the sweets you distribute.
May craving and aversion vanish from your life like the firecrackers.
May you light lamps of knowledge and wisdom.
Celebrate Diwali and make life a celebration.

3.    The senses are like fire. Whatever you put into your senses burns in this fire. A fire that creates light and warmth is of high quality. A fire that creates light and a little smoke is of medium quality. The fire that creates smoke and darkness is of low quality. Learn to distinguish these different fires. When your senses are engaged in goodness, then you will create light and fragrance.

4.    If there is fear or confusion in your life, it is because of a lack of commitment. An uncommitted mind is miserable. A committed mind may experience rough weather but will reap the fruits of its toil.

5.    Now and then, in life, a pinch of unpleasantness comes. Do you know why? It makes you aware of your pleasantness. In order to keep you alive, now and then, nature gives you a little pinch. It makes life more lively. Accept it.

6.    Q: I would love having a joint family. But I am little afraid if there is any disadvantage involved?
Sri Sri: There are some disadvantages in a joint family, too. But when a family is broken into nuclear families, husband, wife and kids, there is nobody else to quarrel with! So, they end up quarrelling among themselves. And then the kids and the parents separate, too. The advantage of joint family is that they live together even after quarrels. People are going back to family values and the joint family system all over the world now. It is also very important to keep on the tradition of celebrating festivals with the whole family coming together.

7.    Kick all complaints about anybody or anything out of your head. Then you become useful to this world.

8.    Q: It is said that when we take one step towards the Guru, he takes ten towards us. If we take one step backwards, what does he do?
Sri Sri: Wait for you to take a step forward.

9.    When we were born we were dependent. When we grow old we will be dependent. In between, in these few years, we think that we are very independent. That is an illusion. On the other side, if you take a look at the spirit, the consciousness, it has been independent throughout. This is very subtle. We are a combination of both dependence and independence – body and spirit

10. On this path, the first rule is stop blaming yourself. What is spirituality? It is getting in touch with yourself, the core of your being. If you keep blaming yourself, how can you go near yourself? You will never want to be with someone who blames. You can never be at peace, you can never dive inside and you can never transcend when you keep doing it. So never blame yourself.

11. Generally, if someone is very bad, you will just move away from them. But when you hate them, that means, there is a deep connection that you are unable to get away from. You want to be with them, that is why you start disliking them. One, who is caught in the whirlpool of mind, only deserves compassion, not anger.

12. I tell you, deep inside you is a fountain of bliss, a fountain of joy. Deep inside, your center core is truth, light, love; there is no guilt there, there is no fear there.

13. Brave are those who nurture friendships for only friendship’s sake. Such friendships will never die.

14. The strength of a relationship lies in its ability to accommodate rough patches. How well you handle it gives you skills. See the situation as an opportunity to learn to adapt, to be accommodating. Excel in exhibiting your character rather than changing the other person. If the relationship comes from a space of giving rather than need, it is a good quality relationship.

15. Have one dream for yourself and one dream for the world. And if both of them are the same, that is the best! But even if they are not, it is ok. Just see that they are not in conflict with each other.

16. Of the six billion people on this planet, there are hardly a few thousand who cause terrorism and the whole world is affected. Don’t you think that with the same law, the reverse will also work? Just a few thousand of us, being really peaceful, loving & caring for the whole planet — can we not bring a transformation?

17. Dream the impossible. Know that you are born in this world to do something wonderful and unique; don't let this opportunity pass by. Give yourself the freedom to dream and think big.

18. The greatest offering is yourself. After all, why do you get sad? Mainly because you are not able to achieve something in life. At such times, surrender everything to the all knowing God. The greatest power is in surrender to the Divine. It is like a drop owning the ocean. If a drop remains separate, it will perish. But when it becomes the ocean, it is eternal.

19. Do not look for God somewhere in the sky, but see him in every pair of eyes, in the mountains, water, trees and animals.

20. How? Only when you see God in yourself. Only Gods can worship Gods.

21. All the people in the world smile in the same language.

22. Keep your heart in a safe place; it is too delicate. Events, small things, make strong impressions on it. And you cannot find a better place than the Divine to keep your heart safe and your mind sane.

23. The whole universe is nothing but groups of atoms, groups of qualities, of energy. Gana means group and a group cannot exist without a lord. Ganesha was born from the unmanifest transcendental consciousness called Shiva. Just as when atoms bond, matter comes into existence; so when all the fragmented aspects of human consciousness bond, Divinity happens effortlessly and that is the birth of Ganesha from Shiva.

24. Don't wait for someone to bring you flowers. Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul

25. You can see love everywhere in this creation if only you have the eyes to see it.

26. Meditation makes you realize that the kingdom of God is within.

27. I know life is a game. You know life is a game. Let's play!!

28. What you cannot win with guns, you can win through love. The most powerful thing in the world is love. We can win the hearts of people through love. The victory that comes out of ego is worth nothing. Even if you win in ego, it is a loss. Even if you lose in love, it's a victory!

29. Know that you are a student forever. Knowledge may come to you from any corner. When you are always looking to learn, you will stop underestimating others. Humility will dawn in your life. Each occasion teaches you and each person teaches you. The world is your teacher.

30. Enlightenment is being alone in a crowd; a feeling of oneness in a crowd – this is a sign of wisdom.

31. If you allow the universe to work through you, you will find life takes to another level of existence.

32. The Master is a doorway. When you are out in the street in hot sun or stuck in rain and thunder, you feel the need for a shelter. Once you enter the door, the world looks so much more beautiful; it is a place filled with love, joy, cooperation, compassion and all virtues. Looking through the doorway there is no fear. From inside your home, you can look at the thunder, at the storm and yet be relaxed as you are in the shelter. Such a sense of security, fullness and joy comes. That is the purpose of having a Master.

33. Walk lightly on this planet and yet leave such a footprint that cannot be erased for thousands of years!

34. f you are loving then you are welcomed everywhere in the world. If you can feel and be one with people anywhere you go, then people are ready to do anything for you.

SRI SRI RAVISHANKAR

Sri Sri Ravishankar is the apostle of peace, love and Yoga in today’s world torn by violence and unrest of all sorts.

Here are some of his recent Quotable Quotes . I do Hope, the readers will love them. Due to the number of quotes, I am putting them in 2 blog Posts. This is the first – and is followed in the next. Kindly read both of them

POST-1

1.    When you sit and think, “When will I get happiness,” you won’t get it. When you see your happiness in the happiness of others, that’s when you will be truly happy.

2.    If our legacy to the coming generations is a set of laws to run the world by, they will continue to fight over rights. But if we could show them the right values to live by, we will leave an inheritance they can cherish.

3.    Love is a deep desire to bless the creation.

4.    If you manipulate words, it is a lie.
If you play on words, it is a joke.
If you rely on words, it is ignorance but
if you transcend words, it is wisdom.

5.    Have this faith that someone is there to take away your weaknesses. Ok, you slipped once, twice, thrice. It does not matter. Keep moving ahead. People take vows never to commit mistakes again. Breaking the vows makes it worse. Surrendering is better.

6.    Your guilt for celebration is only if it is for your own pleasure. If celebration is aimed at uniting hearts and minds of people around you, if it is to help them to let go the traumatic past and kindle a light of hope for the future, if your celebration is aimed at uplifting society, then guilt will come nowhere near you. That type of a celebration is service; it is sacred. Turn your celebration into a sacred offering for society rather than the self-centered pleasure seeking one.

7.    We have been educated in many disciplines. We may know how to operate a complex computer but we falter when faced with the forces that make up life. No one teaches us how to live life. We need to make that extra effort to learn more about our own mind and ego, and find out who we are and why we are here. And only love can help us widen our knowledge and understanding of life and the world around us.

8.    The whole world is one family, so it is necessary that we live with naturalness and simplicity; only then life blossoms. The wall that we erect between ourselves and others needs to be demolished. From your side, drop all inhibitions between you and others. Go on and shake hands

9.    Often you are in a rush in life. When you are in a rush, you are unable to properly perceive things. The rush to enjoy robs the joy from life and only denies the happiness and freedom of here and now. Often you do not even know why you are in a hurry. It almost becomes a biological phenomenon to be in a rush. Wake up and become aware of the rush in you!

10. If you are at ease with yourself, everyone will be at ease with you. Be natural and be simple. Relationships develop naturally. If you try to build a relationship that is when you become a little artificial. You like someone to be honest, open, natural, unassuming with you. That is exactly what others also want from you.

11. When the mind is happy, it expands and time seems too short. When the mind is unhappy, it contracts and time seems too long. When the mind is in equanimity, it transcends time.

12. Our youth should know what sacrifices have been made by the Sikh Gurus. Our country has been preserved by the sacrifice of Sikhs. This character needs to be inculcated in every child from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Corruption exists because there is no sense of sacrifice today. Listening to Gurbani will create vigour and enthusiasm for service.

13. When the love that you are is kindled, life itself becomes a scripture, a holy book. Make your life the Geeta, Quran or Bible. And the key to achieving that is divine love! Becoming a devotee who is full of Him, lost in Him.

14. Surrender is not submission. What is the meaning of surrender? It is realizing that everywhere, everything belongs to the Divine already. “I” am not in control – that is surrender. And with this realization comes a deep relaxation, a feeling of trust and being at home. Why is there so much fear about surrender; you think you will lose something? I tell you, you will gain in the kingdom of world and heaven.

15. For external beauty, you put on things; for real beauty, you have to drop all things. For external beauty you have to have make-up; for real beauty you only have to realize that you are already made up.

16. Q: Gurudev, I often get confused. What should I do?
Sri Sri: Confusion - fusion with consciousness. Every time you get confused, know that you are growing.

17. People who love peace do not want to fight, and those who fight do not have peace. What is needed is to be peaceful within and then fight. Just trying to end a conflict only prolongs it. God has been putting up with all conflicts throughout the ages and if God can, you can too. The moment you agree to be with a conflict, it no longer appears as a conflict to you.

18. One must be blind to say that religion is not a motivating factor for terrorism. In 26/11, terrorists selectively killed non-Muslims. May Kasab be born again to understand the others' perspective & spread peace.

19. How can we experience infinity? It is possible only through love. Love is the only thing you cannot think about. If you think about it, it ceases to be love. Lovers talk very silly things; they are not thinking. They say the same things over and over again a thousand times. Your reasoning mind is transcended. Whosoever we fall in love with, we are really falling in love with ourselves.

20. When all doors are shut and you have nowhere to go, that is when you go within. Every crisis is an opportunity and you are the beginning.

21. Depression sets in if there is a lack of zeal to fight. Aggression is the antidote to depression. Depression is lack of energy; anger and aggression are bolts of energy. If you are depressed, do not take Prozac - just fight for any cause. This is how Krishna inspired Arjuna to fight. But if aggression crosses a certain limit, it leads you back into depression. That is what happened to King Ashoka after the Kalinga War. He had to take refuge in Buddha. Wise are those who do not fall either into aggression or depression.

22. Q: It is said that winners stand alone. Is it really winning if you stand alone at the top?
Sri Sri: First of all, take this concept of top and bottom out of your mind. Every place is unique. If someone has kept you on the top then it is due to the efforts of all those who are at the bottom. If you happen to be on the top, be totally humble. The more you go up, the more humble you become. Humility is the sign of success. When there is humility, there are no obstacles.

23. You must be in the simple and innocent state of ‘‘I don’t know!’’ This life is a beautiful mystery. Just live it! When we live this mystery of life so totally, then joy dawns.

24. Make others comfortable and you will see that Nature will take care of your comfort.

25. Q: Dear Guruji, when and how can I achieve the ultimate bliss?
Sri Sri: No chance. No way. Forget about it. Are you ready to forget it? Then you got it NOW.

26. You are like a free bird. You are fully open. Learn to fly. This is something which you have to experience within yourself. If you consider yourself as bonded, you will remain bound here. When will you experience freedom? Become free right now. Sit down and become content. Spend some time in meditation & satsang so that your inner self becomes strong enough to deal with challenges.

27. Devotion is like a diamond; don’t trade it for anything made of mud.

28. Diwali means the festival of lights. Each one of you is a light to yourself. Today is the day that you also look at all the wealth you have and feel abundance. Otherwise the mind is always in the space of lack. From lack, move to abundance.

Here ends the first post. Kindly also read the second Post on Guruji’s quotable quotes.
