GREAT QUOTES
FROM SRI SRI RAVISHANKAR
(22-May-2012)
Guruji, Sri Sri Ravishankar is always on the Move; on the
move to change lives wherever he goes. But, thanks to Technology, he is
available to us in his web pages, face Book and so on.
Here are some of his recent, beautiful quotes :
Ø
All regrets happen only when you are looking
towards the past. If you are walking and your head is turned backwards, then
that is called regret. Turn your head and look forward, then future is always
bright. Just drop it and move on...
Ø
Your mind is disturbed thinking about others'
imperfections. Leave others' imperfections to them only, let them handle. You
handle your mind. You handle your own
imperfections and that is good enough.
Ø
When a bud breaks, it becomes a flower. When a
heart breaks, it becomes divine
Ø
Don't look at the lack in your life. See what you have. Then, abundance
increases.
Ø
We experience ourselves in the things we love
more. That is why, when we lose the things we love, we feel hurt. Suppose you
love your piano very much and you hear that it’s broken then something gets cut
off in you. You are not just living in your body but you have also made that
your home. But if we can expand this
existence even more to cover the entirety, we know that there is no loss
and we are total.
Ø
Honor the
creation. Look at a tree with honor. Feel grateful for its being here. It
purifies the poison that we breathe out. It makes the air fresh. Have you ever
thought, "These trees are mine. The sun, the moon, the air, the
water--everything belongs to me. All these stars are mine. The people are
mine."? When you honor the creation, you will feel this.
Ø
Point out the mistake but also offer a solution. If you pose a
problem, and do not give a solution, then it is only half done. If you cannot
find an immediate solution, then work on finding a remedy together.
Ø
A person without emotions is like wood without
any juice. You need to make your life
interesting to draw people to you. This will happen when you nurture
yourself with music, prayer and service. The way to expand from individual to
universal consciousness is to share others’ sorrow and joy. As you grow, your
consciousness should also grow.
Ø
Live your life well. If you are useful to people all your life, there
will be hundreds and millions of people to take care of you.
Ø
"Meditation
is effortless. The key for meditation is effortlessnes. Its not doing
something but doing nothing. Create the condition where you can really do
nothing."
Ø
Someone's company cannot fill your loneliness.
Even if it does, it is very short-lived. You can still feel lonely in spite of
being in company. In a real sense, loneliness can only be filled by being
alone. If you could be comfortable being
alone for some time, then you will not feel lonely. When you don't feel
lonely, you can spread joy to people around you.
Ø
To be happy, we seek something. But despite
getting it, we are not happy. All of one’s life is spent in preparing to be
happy someday in the future. It’s like making a bed all night, but having no
time to sleep. How many minutes, hours and days have we spent our life being happy from within? Those are the
only moments we have really lived life.
Ø
In the occident, anything that is shameful act
is kept secret. In the orient anything that is sacred is kept secret.
Ø
When you're on the massage table, you just lay
there and let the masseur take care of you. It is the same with meditation. Just relax and let nature take care of you.
Ø
Q:What is your view point of God? Sri Sri: In every point of view there is God.
Ø
If you recognize that you have ego, don't try to
get rid of it, just keep it in your pocket. If you try to get rid of it, that
itself will become the cause for a bigger ego trip. The only antidote for ego
is being natural. You want to get rid of your ego because it is bothering you
more than it is bothering others. So if you find that there is ego in you, let
it be. We will not meddle with it. If it comes, let it come.
Ø
Q: Why does a desire arise? Where does it come
from? What is the purpose?......
Sri Sri: All desires have one goal, and that is happiness. If a desire brings unhappiness, it has not reached its goal. It arises when you are not aware of your Being; your Self. Desire is to experience joy. Joy is only in the moment. And when you are joyful, satisfied, when you are in the moment, then there is no burning desire.

Ø
When you rest in your own nature, there is no
conflict. But usually we feel a conflict. We feel bad about a negative quality
we have. Negativity pulls you down. Your positive qualities bring pride and
arrogance in you. Your whole life becomes a big weight. When you offer it all to the Master, you become free.
You become like a flower. You can again smile and rejoice in the moment. What
remains in you is pure love.
Ø
An individual alone cannot fight the menace of
corruption. Without strong community support , individuals are likely to
succumb to corruption. Strong community which would help the weak and vulnerable is most essential.
Ø
One of the rarest character combinations is the coexistence of confidence and humility.
Often people who are confident are not humble and people with humility are not
confident. Confidence blended with humility is most appreciated by everybody.
Ø
Life is not such a serious matter. Start your
day by looking into the mirror and giving a big smile to yourself. Sing, dance and celebrate. The very
intention to celebrate will lift you and bring you to the present moment.
Ø
Love is responsible for all our negative
emotions! If there were no love on this planet, nobody would ever be jealous,
greedy or angry. All the negative emotions are fruits of love. But no one wants
these "fruits". They want love in its purity, in its perfection...
and it is the knowledge of one's self
alone that can do this.
Ø
Forgiveness can never be complete. When you say,
"I forgive", you think the other person is a culprit. However you do
it, a little bit still remains. It's not complete. But when you see the big
picture that the culprit is also a victim, a victim of his/her own mind,
ignorance or unawareness, compassion arises from within you.
Ø
Abundance is a state of consciousness - when you
feel you have plenty. Remember the saying from the Bible: "Those who have,
more will be given to them. Those who do not have, whatever little they have
will be taken away from them." Feel
the abundance within you... and you can only feel this when you feel
connected to the Divine.
Ø
Mischief is the outcome of joy. Children are
very mischievous. Parents say, ‘Don’t do this!’, ‘Stop that!’ It’s very normal
for children to be mischievous; we should let them do it. Sometimes it entails
trouble for the parents, but there is also fun. What is life without fun?
Ø
Q: How does the Divine look so lovable and
beautiful?.....Sri Sri: Look within yourself, you are no less! As is the
vision, so is the world. Only a jeweller can recognise a jewel. Only the one
who is beautiful can recognize beauty. Only those who are lovable will recognize love. But everyone has the
capacity.
Ø
Love can neither be fully hidden nor expressed.
The more you try to hide it, the more apparent it becomes. Love expresses itself in so many ways. You don’t have to tell
anybody you love him or her: your walk, your talk, your look will all convey
that love. Love oozes out of your very presence.
Ø
When a society is free from crime and violence
and has respect for diversity, it is healthy. Similarly a body which is
flexible and can adapt to different conditions is healthy. The signs of good
health are an intellect which is free from inhibition and arrogance, a heart
which is full of compassion is healthy, a confusion-free mind, a trauma-free
memory and a sorrow-free soul. -- Today is World Health Day.
Ø
Q: Guruji, if someone criticizes me and it is
right, it is ok. But if it is not true, I am not able to handle that criticism
and I lose my balance. Please guide. ….Sri Sri: The criticism which you cannot
accept is called blame. How do you deal with blame? You deal with patience. It
needs enormous patience and faith that truth will triumph always and that
things will get better.
With Great
respects & love
